The Fundamentals of Co-Design: DIA Online Sessions

While the theory of co-design is challenging to argue with on paper, we have a long way to go in embedding it into the breadth of design practice we see in Australia.

Assumed complexity, fear of losing control, and concern that the output ‘won’t be as good’ are a few of the many myths ready to be busted.

Join Janna DeVylder, co-founder and director at Meld Studios, in an interactive and collective exploration of co-design’s role in our varied design practices. Together, we’ll explore:

  • What is (and isn’t co-design)

  • Discover the practical benefits of co-design across different Design practices and how it can significantly enhance impact and outcomes.

  • Generate possibilities around what it could do across different Design practices.

  • Engage in a collaborative discussion about the barriers and our collective capacity to bring more attention to designing WITH the people impacted by what is designed.

  • Explore how systems and planet get equal representation in the mix.
