Perth Design Week | Phillip Noakes Gold and Silversmith Live Demonstration

  • City Room, Main Entrance, WA Museum / Boola Bardip Perth Cultural Centre Perth, WA, 6000 Australia (map)

The Design Institute of Australia invites you to watch a master at work.

As part of Perth Design Week and in collaboration with the WA Museum, the DIA is delighted to provide a rare opportunity to view master gold and silversmith, Phillip Noakes, in action. Come and watch as Phillip transforms raw precious metal into an exquisite vessel before your eyes.

Mastering the techniques and tools of his chosen profession, Philip Noakes’ career as a gold and silversmith is exemplified by consistently well designed and executed masterpieces. Trained in the exacting skills of a master craftsman at Sir John Cass College in London, Philip’s knowledge of precious metals and stones, their symbolism and properties, combinations and transformations, has been honed through forty years of commitment to his art and practice.
