The inaugural Perth Design Week’s program of exhibitions, talks, walks and more has been brought together by co-creators of the new event, architect Sandy Anghie and designer David Smith.
Perth Design Week is a ‘coalition of the willing’ - a group of people and organisations. The West Australian branches of national member organisations have come onboard, including the Design Institute of Australia, Association of Consulting Architects, Planning Institute of Australia, Design Matters and more. There are also a number of local groups involved including Perth Centre for Photography, PICA and FORM.
Also onboard are the WA Museum Boola Bardip, State Buildings, Brookfield Place, Curtin University, Brickworks and other venues hosting talks and exhibitions. While architecture, planning and design studios based in the city are set to open their doors to welcome the public in. Highlights include Curtin’s School of Design and the Built Environment Exhibition, Uncovering historical queer spaces with architect Dexter Wong, a Collection by PICA and more.
