Join the ‘Green Star Fitouts’ rating tool

A callout for interior designers! Green Star is a recognised sustainability rating system for the built environment and is transforming how we design, build, and operate fitouts, buildings, and communities.

The Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) are developing a new ‘Green Star Fitouts’ rating tool and are seeking passionate, experienced designers to join their Expert Reference Panel (ERP).

Green Star Fitouts aims to improve the way that professionals design and construct fitouts across sectors and scales. Our built environment is the world’s single largest contributor to greenhouse gas emissions. It also consumes around a third of our water and generates 40 per cent of our waste. The new rating tool will address this by driving more circular, healthier, and positive outcomes.

The rating tools and standards are being developed by industry for industry so the process ensures the development of well informed and robust rating tools.

Interior designers play a significant role in transforming the built environment. Their work can help maximise the use of existing buildings and establish fitouts with positive outcomes. If you are an interior designer with expertise in circularity or health and wellbeing, we encourage you to nominate. Individuals must be from GBCA member organisations.
