The Opportunity

We are seeking two passionate and talented designers to join our team:

  • Senior Interior Designer

  • Interior Designer

These roles are responsible for delivering high-end projects, focusing on interior design and documentation from concept to completion. There is potential for client-facing opportunities, requiring strong communication skills to collaborate with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to bring design visions to life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and document high-quality interior designs in alignment with Hillam Architects' standards and specific project aspirations

  • Prepare drawings, schedules, and specifications in accordance with the project Design Brief and ensure all items are fit for purpose.

  • Oversee the day-to-day Interior Design project delivery including communication with Client, Internal and External Project teams, Authorities, and other Stakeholders.

  • Assist the Project Leader in planning Interior Design deliverables, Consultant scope of works, design reviews, Client signoffs, programme, resources, and budgets required for delegated projects

  • Ensure all required Interiors checklists and QA reviews are completed on your projects

  • Work closely with colleagues & directors to ensure that projects are delivered successfully on time and on budget

  • Senior Interior Designer will be actively involved with Quality Assurance reviews/process improvements and Mentoring

We are looking for candidates who…

  • Advanced Diploma or Tertiary qualification in Interior Architecture

  • Senior Interior Designer - 6+ years’ experience 

  • Interior Designer – 3+ years’ experience

  • Experience in at least one area of the following: multi residential, hotel, student accommodation, build to rent, townhouses, carbon neutral and highly rated energy buildings, commercial or fit out.

  • Some experience in hospitality a plus

  • Experience or confidence and desire to work with clients and consultants 

  • Experience in Revit  

  • Experience in using Adobe Suite (Indesign, Photoshop etc) advantageous

  • Experience in using Microsoft Office.

  • QA experience an advantage

  • Strong Task and time measurement and management

  • Have enthusiasm and passion for design – creative and forward thinking.

  • Have strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills.

  • High attention to detail

  • Flexible and Adaptable

  • Must have Australian working rights with no restrictions
