The DIA bestows the right to members with the status of Member or above to use specific letters patent or post-nominals after their name.
These letters patent are used to indicate your status to the community. You must be a current financial member of the DIA to continue to use the letters.
We encourage all members who are entitled to use the letters to include them on all business correspondence and stationery immediately after their name (eg David Robertson FDIA). This helps to lift the profile of the DIA and enhance the status of all members.
Until you have obtained the membership level of Member or above you are not entitled to use the letters patent. If you cease to be a member you must cease to use the letters and remove them from all stationery and publications. The only exceptions to this rule apply to Honorary Fellows and Life Fellows.
