DIA Practice Member and multi-award winning architectural practice HASSELL has topped the list of six Australian firms that have been included in this year’s list of the world’s 100 biggest practices, published in association with UK magazine Building Design.
The worldwide survey of global practices has been running for the last fifteen years, and is compiled from information submitted by practices as part of a survey carried out in late 2009.
Ranking the firms by the number of architects employed, HASSELL is the top Australian firm featured, sitting at number 25 in the world, with 352 architects working at the practice.
Another high profile DIA Practice Member, Bates Smart, was ranked in 58th position in the world with 146 architects employed.
For those interested in the biggest number of all, number one spot was taken by Japan’s Nikken Sekkei company, employing 1,165 architects.
HASSELL also claimed equal fifth spot for profits with US$16m, with Bates Smart in tenth spot with US$9m.
